Edmundston Police Responds To Death Of Chantel Moore

A response from the Edmundston Police and Dispatchers Association after last week’s shooting death.

In a statement, President Sergeant Martin Perron, offered sincere condolences from the members to the families and loved ones of Chantel Moore.

It adds that they fully support an independent investigation into the action of one of their members.

They plan to await the outcome of the investigation before making any further comment.

Twenty-six-year-old Moore was shot and killed on Thursday morning, while officers were responding to a well being check at a home.

Edmundston Police say an officer was confronted by a woman holding a knife who made threats, when a gun was fired.
