Initial Report Into Cyclone Helicopter Crash Released

The Director of Flight Safety has released its initial report into a Royal Canadian Air Force Cyclone helicopter crash in Greece.

The investigation has determined that prior to an attempted landing on HMCS Fredericton, the helicopter made a lefthand turn.

The aircraft did not respond as the crew would have anticipated, and at such a low altitude, it was unrecoverable.

The helicopter crashed into the Ionian Sea.

All six members onboard were killed.

The investigation will continue to focus on aircraft systems and human factors in the crash.
