Tender Awarded For Meenan’s Cove Upgrades

Quispamsis has awarded a tender for the Meenan’s Cove Beach House expansion and renovation project.

The $1.4-million tender was awarded to Bird Construction Company, which was the lowest of four bidders.

The tender includes work on the beach house, upgrade of site services and a parking lot expansion.

It also includes work to finish the berm, landscaping and the trail across the top of the park.

Aaron Kennedy, the spokesperson for the town, said they hope to have the work done by next spring or summer.

The town has set aside just over $2 million for the entire project, which also involved playground upgrades and a generator.

Kennedy said tenders for those two portions of the work will be going out soon.
