One man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after reports of a shot fired near the Loyalist Burial Ground on Sunday night.
Saint John police said they responded to the call just before 8 p.m.
Two people believed to be involved in the incident were approached by officers.
The incident is not believed to be random by police and the investigation is ongoing.
