The Maritime provinces have a new UNESCO recognized attraction.
The Cliffs of Fundy in Nova Scotia will be designated as a Global Geopark.
Geoparks are areas of international geological significance that aim to explore connections between cultural heritage, nature and local communities while providing education and sustainable development.
This comes after years of campaigning for recognition which the local community hopes will boost tourism.
Also recognized was the Bonavista Peninsula in Newfoundland which means there are now five UNESCO recognized Geoparks in Canada, including Stonehammer in Saint John.
