Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found after a home invasion near Oromocto.
Mounties say they were called to a home in Route 655 in Waasis shortly after 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.
They say the body of a 29-year-old man was found at the scene, and his death is being considered suspicious.
“It’s believed that more than one armed individuals entered the residence. They had fled the scene before police arrived,” said the RCMP in a news release.
Investigators say it appears the home invasion and death are linked, and that it is an isolated incident.
Police have not identified the victim but say an autopsy will be completed to determine the cause of death.
