Garage Destroyed, Home Damaged In Fire

No injuries after a fire destroyed a garage and damaged a home near the Saint John Airport.

Fire crews were called to the scene on Evergreen Avenue, across from Loch Lomond School, shortly after noon Thursday.

Platoon Chief Brian Wilson with the Saint John Fire Department said the detached garage was engulfed with flames when they arrived.

Wilson said the fire also spread to the home, which suffered what he described as moderate damage.

The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental, he said.

Fire crews were on scene for a couple of hours.
