Elections NB Refers Matter To Saint John Police

Elections New Brunswick has referred a matter to the Saint John Police Force for investigation.

Spokesperson Paul Harpelle said it involves an alleged violation under the province’s Elections Act.

Harpelle declined to provide specific details but said the matter does not involve any political parties.

The matter was referred to Saint John police in early September, he said.

Jim Hennessy, a spokesperson for the Saint John Police Force, confirmed that Elections NB has contacted them.

In an email statement, Hennessy said no further details are being provided at this time.
