New Brunswick public health is reporting 20 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 57 active cases in the province.
This is the highest number of daily cases in the province since the pandemic began.
Chief medical health officer Dr. Jennifer Russell says 12 of the new cases are in the Moncton region, 7 are in the Campbellton region and one is in the Fredericton region.
Three individuals are in hospital and one is in the ICU.
Russell says nine of these cases are linked to the current outbreak at Manoir Notre Dame in Moncton.
She says following public health guidelines is essential in slowing the spread of the virus.
“New Brunswickers must work together to keep out numbers low, and masks are especially important. All New Brunswickers must wear a masks when indoors in public spaces and residents in zone 1 and 5 must wear masks both indoors and outdoors,” she says.
Public Health is also recommending not travelling to the orange zones and to closely monitor themselves for symptoms if they have.
