Environment Canada says New Brunswick has found itself in an unusually warm weather pattern for mid-November.
If temperatures climb into the 20s Celsius Tuesday, record highs could be broken.
Meteorologist Jill Maepea says the warmth Ontario and Quebec have been enjoying has moved east.
“It’s a set up where our jet stream is well to the north and we’re in a southwesterly flow. So that flow is actually bringing warmth and some moisture all the way down from the southeastern U.S. right up into the Maritimes.”
But she adds it is still November. Maepea says a return to more normal temperatures is expected by Friday with even some snow flurries possible this weekend.
For southern New Brunswick, normal daytime highs for mid-November are near 6°C or 7°C with overnight lows between -1°C and -3°C.
