Cyclist Dies In Collision Involving Transport Truck

Police say a 52-year-old man has died following a collision between a bicycle and a transport truck in east Saint John.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Bayside Drive and Thorne Avenue just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Spokesperson Jim Hennessy said the cyclist was rushed to the Saint John Regional Hospital but died from his injuries.

Hennessy said the name of the victim is not being released.

There is no word yet on a cause of the crash.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated.
