High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power

High winds have left hundreds of homes and businesses without power across New Brunswick.

NB Power reported more than 5,000 customers without power as of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Of those, 2,600 are in the Charlotte Southwest region, 900 are in the Kings/Queens region, and nearly 300 are in Kennebecasis Valley Fundy.

Central York Sunbury, which includes the Fredericton area, has more than 800 customers affected by outages.

You can find the latest outages and estimated restoration times on NB Power’s website.

Power outages forced the Anglophone South School District to close several schools on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Saint John Energy is not currently reporting any outages.
