A local community activist is looking to become a councillor in Saint John’s Ward 4.
Lynaya Astephen is looking to fill one of two seats in the east Saint John riding.
Astephen said as a councillor, she wants to stand for the common good and restore some faith and democracy.
She said some of her focuses include affordable property taxes, affordable housing, and more council transparency.
Astephen said she also wants to protect Saint John Energy as a public asset and create a citizen-led climate change committee.
Election day is on May 10.
