Federal Conservatives are still waiting for a federal budget.
Kenora MP Eric Melillo says it’s past time we had some sort of fiscal document.
“They’ve actually announced it won’t be in March,” explains Melillo.
“The concern we have that every province in Canada has brought forward a budget during the pandemic. Many other countries have brought forward budgets during the pandemic, or multiple budgets during the pandemic, but we haven’t.”
Melillo adds this is the longest period of time Canada has gone without some sort of fiscal document.
“We need a path forward…we need a plan both from the health side, but the economic side as well on how we’re going to recover from this. So we hope to see this budget as soon as possible.”
The Conservatives say it’s been two years since the last federal budget.
