Matt Alexander Re-Offering For Rothesay Council

A two-term Rothesay councillor is hoping to be re-elected in the upcoming municipal elections.

Matt Alexander, who currently serves as deputy mayor, has put his name forward for council.

If re-elected, Alexander said he will continue to encourage development while preserving Rothesay’s “small-town character and charm.”

He said he will also support climate change adaptation strategies and continue to work on enhancing the town’s stormwater management plans to further mitigate flooding.

Other priorities for Alexander include fostering enhanced cooperation with neighbouring municipalities on shared services, working to maintain a stable tax rate, and promoting the development of affordable housing options in the town.

Voters will head to the polls on May 10.
