After a five-year break from municipal politics, Bill Bishop is throwing his hat back in the ring.
The former long-time Rothesay mayor is on the ballot again — this time for one of the town’s seven council seats.
“I have the desire to serve and I believe the experience to help in the orderly development of our Town,” Bishop said in an email.
Bishop spent more than four decades in municipal politics, including 15 years as mayor, before deciding not to re-offer in the 2016 election.
He said his only pledge to residents is that he will be financially responsible while embracing the steady growth of a planned community.
Voters will cast their ballots on May 10.
