Free Overnight Parking Returns

If you are coming uptown to enjoy a night out, you can now leave your car until the next morning.

Free overnight parking returns to the entertainment district of uptown Saint John from May 1 to Oct. 31.

All metered parking spots and most Saint John Parking Commission lots will have free parking from midnight to 7 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

This does not include the Market Square and Peel Plaza parking garages.

Streets that fall under the entertainment district include:

  • King Street from Charlotte Street to Prince William Street;
  • Princess Street from Water Street to Charlotte Street;
  • Duke Street from Water Street to Canterbury Street;
  • Water Street from King Street to Duke Street;
  • Prince William Street from King Street to Duke Street;
  • Canterbury Street from King Street to Duke Street;
  • Germain Street from King Street to Princess Street; and
  • Charlotte Street from King Street to Duke Street.

All daytime parking rules apply as usual from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
