Hospital Foundation Names Interim CEO

We now know who will lead the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation until the next CEO is chosen.

Jamie Gallagher, who chairs the foundation’s board of directors, has been named interim CEO.

“The Board and the Foundation team look forward to working with Jamie to ensure operations at the Foundation continue to run smoothly during the leadership transition,” the foundation said in an email Monday.

Gallagher will fill the role temporarily when the current president and CEO, Jeff McAloon, steps down in July.

McAloon announced in April that he would be leaving the foundation after eight years as president and CEO.

Gallagher has served on the foundation’s board since 2013 and was appointed chair last year.

He owned the Shadow Lawn Inn in Rothesay for more than a decade and previously served as president of United Way Saint John.

“We have every confidence that the Foundation will continue to thrive under his leadership as we continue to grow our fundraising efforts to impact health care for New Brunswickers,” said the foundation.

A special committee of active board members is conducting a comprehensive national search for McAloon’s permanent replacement.
