Two Fatal Crashes In Northeastern N.B.

Two people have died in two separate crashes in northeastern New Brunswick over the long weekend.

Mounties say the first crash happened in the community of Pont-Lafrance early Saturday morning.

They say a vehicle left Le Bouthillier Road and crashed into a ditch.

An 18-year-old woman, who was the only person in the vehicle, later died from her injuries in the hospital.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to an all-terrain vehicle crash in Sormany.

Investigators believe the ATV overturned on an embankment, killing the driver, a 78-year-old man from Beresford.

Police say both crashes remain under investigation.
