New Survey Looks At Q3 Hiring Climate

Employers in two of New Brunswick’s three largest cities expect an upbeat or positive hiring climate in the third quarter.

That is according to the latest employment outlook survey conducted by staffing firm ManpowerGroup

Twenty-four per cent of employers in Saint John said they plan to hire for the upcoming quarter, while none anticipate cutbacks. The remaining 76 per cent expect to maintain current staffing levels.

In Moncton, roughly 30 per cent of employers expect to add more employees while 67 per cent plan to maintain current staffing levels. None anticipate cutbacks, according to the survey.

The hiring climate is seen as conservative in Fredericton, where 14 per cent plan to hire, four per cent anticipate cutbacks, and 79 per cent plan to maintain staffing levels.
