Survey Finds Small Businesses Looking For Shoppers

Small businesses are looking for shoppers to return to their stores now that reopening is finally a reality.

But a survey conducted on behalf of Canadian Federation of Independent Business found that 59 per cent of respondents says they’ve chosen big box stores and online giants for purchases during the pandemic.

Ninety per cent said they wish they could support small businesses in their community.

Executive Vice-President at CFIB Laura Jones says small businesses are relieved that the worst of the COVID storm seems to be over, but for many of them the clean-up, is concerning.

Last month’s data on the CFIB’s small business recovery dashboard shows that 73 per cent of small businesses in Canada have fully reopened, but only 38 per cent are making normal sales.

Jones adds, “There’s now a big opportunity to show small business the love and support they need.”
