Wednesday night’s thunderstorm caused damage at Dominion Park Beach in Saint John.
City crews are working to repair ruts in the sand caused by the heavy rain.
Officials say sections of the beach will be closed until that is done.
They expect the work to be completed in time for the weekend.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid the closed areas.
