Woodstock Police Officer Mourned By Colleagues

The Woodstock Police Force is mourning the loss of one of its officers.

The force announced Monday that Const. Dale Pollock had died suddenly.

Pollock was a 14-year veteran of Woodstock police and joined the force in Sept. 2007.

“There are no words to describe what we are all feeling, nor can any explanation be offered that may comfort the absence being felt in our hearts during this difficult time,” said the post.

“What may be stated clearly is that Dale’s presence, friendship, and perspective enriched us all. He was our friend and he will be missed in all we do moving forward.”

Pollock also served as an escort for Canada’s 911 Ride, a motorcycle ride that raises money for many causes, including families of fallen emergency service personnel and children who were victims of violent crimes.

Atlantic region president Darrell Coffin said Pollock was an all-around terrific person who became a friend to many over the years.

“He loved attending ‘the ride’ and would always get excited upon receiving the call from me, prompting him to get ready for the upcoming ride,” Coffin wrote in a Facebook post.

No details about funeral arrangements for Pollock have been released.
