Most services have resumed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John following a weekend incident that caused extensive damage.
The Horizon Health Network said someone broke into the centre early Sunday morning and broke several sprinkler heads.
That caused water to flow into the fourth floor where it entered into multiple rooms, including operating rooms, and flowed down the building.
“Due to the damage, Horizon temporarily closed its Urgent Care Centre until the glass is replaced and clean-up is complete,” the health authority said in a news release on Sunday.
The Urgent Care Centre reopened Monday while surgeries are expected to resume on Tuesday.
Officials said 12 surgeries were redirected to the Saint John Regional Hospital and nine were postponed.
Clinic 1 and 2 will remain closed until Thursday to repair and clean up the “significant” water damage, said Horizon.

Meanwhile, police say Michael Hebert appeared in court briefly on Monday in connection with the incident.
Hebert was charged with mischief, assaulting a peace officer, obstruction and breach of probation.
A five-day in-jail assessment was ordered for the 44-year-old man.
Police are still seeking more information on what happened.
They want to hear from people who have video footage in the area of Paddock and Coburg street between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
