Two People Facing Charges In Fatal Hit-And-Run

Two people are now facing charges following a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a cyclist in uptown Saint John.

Philip MacMillan was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle along Crown Street on the morning of May 28.

The 62-year-old man died from his injuries at the Saint John Regional Hospital nearly a week later.

Police say an officer on patrol located the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident on May 29.

On Wednesday, they announced that charges have been recommended against a 23-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man.

“These investigations are often complex and require a number of resources to prosecute,” the police force said in a news release.

The man and woman are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 8. Police did not release details about the charges they may be facing.
