Seven Trees Planted In King’s Square

On Wednesday, city arborists and public works crews planted seven maple trees in King’s Square.

The new trees are replacing the five 200-year-old trees that fell in 2019 during Hurricane Dorian.

“King’s Square is a highly valued park in the centre of the city that welcomes hundreds of people passing through each day and plays host to some popular gatherings and historic events,” reads a statement from city officials.

The statement added that beautification and maintenance of King’s Square are important because it ensures the space can be enjoyed by residents and visitors for years to come.
