Higgs Congratulates Trudeau On Victory

New Brunswick’s premier is congratulating Liberal leader Justin Trudeau for his federal election win.

Premier Blaine Higgs issued a short statement early Tuesday afternoon following Trudeau’s victory.

“As we emerge from the pandemic, I look forward to continuing our work with the federal government, with a spirit of respect and co-operation, to the benefit of all New Brunswickers and Canadians,” Higgs said in the two-line statement.

Trudeau was dealt a second minority government following Monday’s election, with mail-in ballots still being counted on Tuesday.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, the Liberals were leading in six of New Brunswick’s 10 ridings.
