Guilty Plea Entered In Deadly 2020 Crash

Police providing an update on a deadly crash that occurred last fall.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on November 19th, 2020, around 12:40 p.m. on Manawagonish Road on the west side of Saint John.

A 67-year-old woman who was critically injured in the crash later died in hospital.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

Following an investigation by police in Saint John and the K.V., Michael Totten entered a plea of guilty to a charge of impaired driving causing death during a court appearance on Monday.

Totten is due back in court on November 4th for sentencing.

In a news release, the Saint John Police Force offered a reminder to the public to not drive impaired.

The force encourages members of the public to contact police if they suspect someone may be impaired while driving by calling (506) 648-3333.
