Canadians are being asked to support the Red Cross appeal to help the people of Ukraine.
The federal government will match all donations made by individual Canadians for the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.
Donations will be matched up until March 18th up to a maximum of $10 million.
Hundreds of thousands of Ukraine residents have fled their country for Poland after the invasion by Russian forces.
Funds raised allow the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement to respond to humanitarian needs.
Support provided by the Red Cross could include immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery and other critical humanitarian activities in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
