UPDATED: Upcoming Lane Closure On Route 1

Planned construction could lead to some traffic headaches for Saint John-area motorists throughout the month.

Gateway Operations says work on Route 1 east of the Rothesay Avenue interchange will lead to lane closures starting Thursday, March 10.

In a news release, Gateway said eastbound traffic will be down to one lane between kilometre markers 129 and 132 until April 8.

From March 21 to 25, traffic will be stopped in both directions near kilometre markers 130 and 132 for about 15 minutes each morning and afternoon.

According to Gateway, that will happen sometime between 9:30 and 11 a.m. each morning, and between 2 and 3 p.m. each afternoon.

Editor’s note: The work was originally supposed to take place from March 8 to March 29.
