Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Vehicle

Saint John police say a 37-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle in the city.

Officers responded to a Waterloo Street parking lot around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a stolen vehicle.

“At approximately 7:01 a.m., an officer observed the stolen vehicle travelling on Wentworth Street,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

The vehicle was pulled over on Crown Street, they said, and the driver was arrested without incident.

Bruce Scopie appeared in provincial court on Tuesday and was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday.
