$36M Worth Of Building Permit Applications Submitted In March

Saint John received $36.2 million worth of building permit applications during the month of March.

That is more than 90 per cent of the total value of all permits received in the first three months of 2022.

City officials said there were three “high-value” building permit applications among the 41 received in March.

One was for the construction of 10 wind turbine foundations for the Burchill Project, valued at $15 million

Another was for a $15-million, 87-unit apartment building being proposed for Technology Drive in Millidgeville.

The third is a $4.2-million project to construct a large retaining wall at 408 Mill Road — Irving Pulp & Paper Ltd.

Saint John’s One-Stop Development Shop has received a total of 98 permit applications with a value of $39.2 million since the start of the year.
