A New Brunswick woman has died in a single-vehicle crash in Nova Scotia’s Cumberland County.

The crash happened on Highway 204 in the community of West Leicester just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mounties say the first emergency crews on the scene found a small car had struck a utility pole.

The driver and lone occupant, a 27-year-old woman from Sackville, N.B., died at the scene.

Police say the highway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
