The Ukrainian Welcome Fund has been announced.
It was announced by the Community Foundation during its annual general meeting on Wednesday.
The foundation is contributing $10,000 to the fund, and TD Wealth will match that donation.
The funds will be distributed through the Newcomer Connections program at the YMCA of Greater Saint John.
“We are so pleased to support the foundation on this important initiative,” said John Fitzpatrick Jr. of TD Wealth in a release.
“We know these funds will be put to great use through the YMCA and directly impact the likes of Ukrainians coming to Saint John,” added Fitzpatrick Jr.
The United Water Saint John, Kings & Charlotte has also partnered with the Community Foundation and has donated a matching gift of $10,000.
Finally, the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce has provided a $1,000 donation and will promote the fund to the businesses throughout its membership to encourage additional donations.
