N.B. Wraps Up Week 1 At Canada Summer Games

New Brunswick will enter week two of the Canada Summer Games with 10 medals.

The first week of competition wrapped up on Saturday in the community of Niagara, Ont.

Our women’s beach volleyball team fell to British Columbia 2-0 for a fourth-place finish.

Men’s basketball lost to Quebec 90-57 to claim sixth place while the women’s team placed seventh with an 86-63 win over Manitoba.

New Brunswick’s tennis team defeated Newfoundland and Labrador 4-2 to also finish seventh.

Sunday is a turnaround day as week one participants return home to New Brunswick and week two athletes arrive in Niagara.

Second-week competition will include athletics, men’s box lacrosse, canoe kayak, road cycling, golf, rowing, sailing, women’s soccer, men’s softball, and men’s and women’s volleyball.
