Former LBR General Manager Passes Away

A Saint John man is being remembered for his service and dedication to the community.

Dave Nicholson passed away on Sunday at the age of 76, according to his obituary.

Nicholson was general manager of the Lord Beaverbrook Rink for more than 30 years before his retirement.

“This was a career he truly enjoyed and where many lifelong friendships were made,” said his obituary.

You could also find Nicholson at Exhibition Park Raceway, where he worked as a starter for more than four decades.

He was also assistant captain of the 1973 Saint John Mooseheads that won the Canadian Senior Hockey Championship.

“Most of all, Dave loved his family and devoted his life to caring for their needs,” read his obituary.

“Dave was a kind and caring man – a true gentleman – whose word was truly his bond. He was a man of great integrity as well as humility.”

A funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon.
