McCain Foods Donates To Help Those Devastated By Fiona

A large donation from a New Brunswick company to assist those struggling due to the devastation by Fiona.

McCain Foods and the McCain Foundation are donating a combined two million dollars to the Canadian Red Cross.

Thousands in Nova Scotia and PEI remain without power, ten days after the storm hit.

There is still much cleanup to do across and there is still much cleanup to do across Atlantic Canada.

“Our company started in a small community in New Brunswick, similar to many of the places that have endured the worst impacts of Hurricane Fiona,” said McCain Foods President & CEO Max Koeune. “We know from our own experience how strong the sense of community is throughout Atlantic Canada, and we, along with The McCain Foundation, are committed to supporting our employees, farmers, friends, families and neighbours during this difficult time.”

McCain Foods is a company founded in Florenceville, New Brunswick.

The federal government has agreed to match donations to the Canadian Red Cross until at least October 23.
