The Department of Health has eliminated a recent backlog in processing Medicare card applications.
In the fall, the process was previously taking 16 weeks, due to the growing number of new residents to the province and the impact of the pandemic.
Health Minister Bruce Fitch says, “Fully completed new applications are now being assessed and processed within an eight-week window, just as they were prior to COVID-19.”
You can register for a Medicare card online.
