Record Highs Set On New Year’s Eve

Several record highs were set in New Brunswick during the final hours of 2022.

At least two communities even reached double-digit highs on New Year’s Eve, according to Environment Canada.

Grand Manan reached a high of 10.6°C, breaking the old high of 8.3°C set in 2011.

The high of 10.5°C in Point Lepreau broke the previous high of 10°C set back in 1936.

Fundy National Park reached 9.5°C, which narrowly broke the 9.4°C record set in 1972.

The high of 8.4°C in Doaktown beat the 2004 record of 6°C.

Miscou Island recorded a temperature of 6°C, shattering the old record of 2.5°C set in 2003.
