Spring weight restrictions begin March 6

Here is a sure sign that the wrath of winter may soon be behind us.

Spring weight restrictions for truck traffic will come into effect across New Brunswick next Monday, March 6.

The start was delayed by one week across southern regions due to an extended period of cold weather.

Weight restrictions will continue through May 14 in the south and May 21 in the north, but those dates could change depending on the weather.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says the annual restrictions help protect roads during the spring thaw.
