Police investigating after 3-year-old hospitalized

Saint John police are investigating after a three-year-old child was taken to the hospital over the weekend.

First responders were called to a child in medical distress on Mystery Lake Drive around 7:45 p.m. Friday.

“The child was transported to hospital and remains under medical care,” Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca said in an email.

The Major Crime Unit and the Family Protection Unit (FPU) are investigating, said Rocca.

The FPU “investigates crime involving children or families, relating to sexual offences, serious domestic violence, stalking, criminal harassment, and child or elder abuse.”
