Man arrested in Saint John armed robbery

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Saint John.

Police were called to a south-end convenience store on St. James Street at around 10:40 pm Thursday night.

It’s alleged a man was wearing a mask and armed with a weapon demanded money from the clerk.

A fight broke out between the employee and the accused, and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

The accused was held in custody and he is scheduled to appear in court today.

Police say no one was physically hurt in the incident.
