Sexual assault charges laid after alleged incident involving a minor

A Moncton man is facing several sexual assault-related charges after an alleged incident at a home on King Street.

On March 2, RCMP officers were called to a residence at around 10:15 pm after reports of a sexual assault involving a minor.

A man was arrested at the scene and the victim was taken to the hospital.

A 39-year-old man appeared in court via tele-remand and is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and we are working diligently to understand if there were other victims,” says RCMP Sergeant Mathieu Roy. “We are asking anyone who may have had similar interactions with this man to please come forward.”

If you are a victim or have any information related to this incident, please contact your local police.
