Canada’s population grew by over 1 million this past year

Canada’s population grew by just over 1 million people over the past year.

It brings our total population to about 39,566,248.

Around 437,180 immigrants came to our country, making that the top contributor to the growth.

Canada is the fastest growing country in the G7 and has been for years, and if we keep up this pace, we’ll have doubled in 26 years.

Stats Canada says this growth is the highest on record since 1957 with the post-war baby boomers and the high immigration of refugees following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
