Plumes of smoke could be seen coming from the Sussex area on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from Sussex, Hammond Jeffries, Millstream and Penobsquis departments were battling a barn fire.
Sussex Fire Chief Tony Reicker says they responded to Waterford Road in Dutch Valley at around 3 p.m.
Ambulance New Brunswick and RCMP were also on the scene.
Reicker adds 35 personnel were there for about four hours.
The barn is a total loss, but no livestock was hurt.
No word on a cause yet.
