Man rescued from Saint John apartment fire

Saint John firefighters rescued a man from an apartment fire in the city’s uptown on Thursday.

Flames broke out in a Sewell Street building shortly after 10 a.m., according to the Saint John Firefighters Association.

Firefighters located the man as they searched the building and got him to safety through a third-floor window.

“Other residents were also located in the building and safely removed,” the association said in a Facebook post.

The fire was contained to the apartment where it started and no serious injuries were reported.
