Saint John man charged in child porn investigation

A Saint John man has been charged following an investigation into child pornography in the community.

New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation after receiving information from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.

Last September, officers searched a residence in the city and seized several electronic devices. A 46-year-old man was also arrested at the scene.

The accused was charged with possession of child pornography and making available child pornography in March and pleaded not guilty.

He was released on conditions and is expected to return to court in November.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
