Big travel plans for a Dieppe couple who won big by scratching.
Marlena and Ernest Williams won the top prize of $2 million on their Atlantic Lottery Extreme Scratch and Win ticket.
The couple moved here four years ago from Ontario, but retirement is looking even sweeter now.
Atlantic Lottery’s $2 Million Extreme is a $20 Scratch’N Win ticket with a top prize of $2 million. The game launched in October 2021 and there is one top prize remaining.
The couple intends to use the prize money to help their family members said their win will help cross off some bucket list trip destinations such as Vietnam, British Columbia and Panama, as well as allow for more trips to their home country of Jamaica to spend time with family, who they haven’t seen since before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“We have to really get settled first, really like, is this for real?” Marlena said. “Then, once we see the money in the account maybe it will feel like reality.”
Ernest purchased the winning $2 Million Extreme ticket at Trinity Superstore in Moncton. The retailer will receive a one percent seller’s prize.
