NANB reports record number of new nurses register in province

A record number of nurses have registered in the province over the past six months.

According to the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, 657 new nurses were added between December 2022 and May 2023.

According to Denise LeBlanc-Kwaw, NANB CEO, says, “During the same period in 2021-2022, NANB registered 224 new nurses. This represents a
193% increase in the number of registrations compared with the previous year.”

Those newly registered include new graduates in the province, nurses from other provinces and Internationally Educated Nurses from other countries.
