A second man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Dieppe man last month.

Police responded to a reported shooting at a Louis Street residence at around 10 p.m. on June 25.

Officers located a man who they say was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old Jacob Wright, later died from his injuries in the hospital.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man from Saint John the following day. The man, who was also wanted for being unlawfully at large, was charged with first-degree murder.

On Wednesday, RCMP arrested a 41-year-old man from Saint John who was also charged with first-degree murder.

Both men have been remanded into custody and are due to appear in court next week.

RCMP Cpl. Stephane Esculier has said they believe this was an isolated and targeted incident.
